I noticed a familiar name on the "Vintage Guitar" issue with Luke on the cover. It brought me right back to my Louisiana roots when I saw that name on the cover. Sonny is one of the best slide guitarists ever. If you have any questions about that, ask Luke. I played in two bands with Sonny back in Louisiana before altering my course and coming out to LA to play music. Sonny was one of those guys who could make the whole band better. I remember once while we were playing together, Sonny walked over and told me to take a solo in the song we were playing.

Only in America do we celebrate "The 4th of July", but I hope everyone is having a great time out there today. As for me, I'll be going to a big party in Malibu to celebrate. I've been in the studio a lot lately working on my solo CD, so I deserve a break from that today. The songs are taking on a life of their own now, and some of them are exceeding my expectations. I want to make it a "little bit of music for everyone", so there's a lot of different styles of music on it. I have ballads, funk, rock, .....etc. Just a little of everything for everyone.

I recently had the pleasure of going to Moscow to check out the sights. I sang with a great band of musicians from LA at a big Auto Show near Red Square. (Sklar, you would have been in Heaven seeing these cars.) Before the show, I got a chance to visit Red Square and The Kremlin. I have so many pictures of that visit, but I'll start with this one. What an amazing place. I felt like I had walked into some forbidden place (being an American). I can remember the times when it was only a dream to go there and hang at the Kremlin (unless you were a politician).

Hi gang. I know it's been a long time since i've posted, but I usually have about 10 things going on at once. While I'm not touring or playing blackjack at one of the venues, I work in the other companies I own parts of. I wanted to take a moment and thank everyone who has participated in this incredible site.
First off, I wanted to give credit to all of you who made the "IV TOTO" CD happen. You are 'The Super Group" in my eyes. That was an enormous gesture, and a great undertaking to compliment the band. I can't thank you enough, and I know it was a fun venture. You're the best.

We just got in from Simon's Birthday Party. We went to one of the best Mexican Restaurants in all of Mexico. It's in Guadalajara, and it's called "Santo Coyote". You can check it out at:
www.santocoyote.com
I'm sure Leland will have some excellent footage for all of you, because there was a band playing with three couples dancing Spanish dances on separate stages around the restaurant. The food was some of the best I've ever had, and anytime you make it to Guadalajara, it's a "must see" place.

I was asked to sing at the Saturday night NAMM Jam with some great players. It's right at the entrance to the NAMM Show, and the band sounded great this year. The monitors are always a bit slack at these events, so I used two mics. to make sure at least one was allowing me to hear myself. Very fun night.
