According to Luke's FB page, they'll record a DVD on this upcoming tour. Kinda cool, but I hate the fact of Bobby not being there. Really wonder what Hold The Line, Rosanna, etc are gonna sound like without Bubba. It's great to see Joe, but why didn't they ask both of them on tour?
It's not a financial reason, since Toto will have new BG singers.
Why not leave all the personal shit behind and just play the music.
Let's hope that they will hire a good video editor and sound mixer this time, cuz the FiBL DVD is absolutely horrible. I love LiA, sound and editing wise, but FiBL is shit....

I sure hope they film a concert or 2 and pick the best...
regarding FIB live. I don't really like the sound of Si's drums there...it is so different then all his recordings...it sounds almost like a bubinga drumkit instead of maple. It's to blurry for me the overall sound. There is one part of me that says great...I mean the mix is very tight and in your face. Just don't like the sound of the drums and you just don't hear audience.
the video mix..I thought it was great! Really. It was very well done. But what they didn't do in LIA they did to much here. Yah know...they zoom in Luke when it's Greg's little solo...they just had to do different cuts. The cuts are freakin' awesome only when the most important stuff comes...they do it wrong. That bothers me. And the fact that there are almost zero shots except for the last two songs of the whole stage at front.
But LIA was to simple for me...nice try but not flashy enough and the sound is ok.
FIB is great but it could have been alot better since it was there last dvd. In terms of editing, mixing and extra's. See what other artists do with simple extra's. But, that just personal. I really love the dvd, it's my favorite. I don't like the mix of FIB too. It's too raw and blurry, great fx but no TOTO like in Tambu, now THAT and Mindfields were the best mixes of them ever heard! You could hear every breath and fart

I think Nathan can do Hold the line and others as lead singer, that would be great, and i mean it! Nevertheless it would be great if Bobby would be there at a possible DVD-Gig, hopefully at the Waerdtse-Tempel(-:
@all Joseph is still a great TOTO singer, and he will proove it (all night(-:) every single concert, even if his voice would be chipped! When you´re about 50years old, you cannot sing like a fountain of youth! You cannot expect this, otherwise you´re not fair! I´ll have a fuc... blast on this tour(-:

Toto DVD - FiB
I'm not sure if Luke confirms the fact of a DVD recording. I saw Luke's facebook comment on the suggestion. Luke's comment on that was about the tour itself, without any mention or confirmation of a DVD recording. A new DVD would be great though. Even more if it would be an additional support to Mike.
I disagree with gggfff about the Falling In Between DVD. I think the video edit and the sound mix are fine.
About the vocals this coming tour: I have confidence in that.

Since you were mentioning it... About Joe's vocals; I've heard a lot of recordings of the 7th One tour, but Joe just doesn't do it for me. Especially on Bobby's songs, but even on his own songs like SLY he couldn't cut it.
He is/was great in the studio (though I'm not a fan of his recent solo stuff) but he aint a live singer
Have you heard the recording from the tour Joe did with Peter Friestedt? The radio broadcast was "far from perfect". The TV show they did was just simply embarrassing.
I can only hope Joe will do good on this upcoming tour and won't lose his voice after 2 days like, sadly, most of the time.

I sing lead vocals in a band. We're not Toto but I have some fun songs on the list. If you wanna warm up you can do some of Burn into Stormbringer with Deep Purple. Come on man, it's only David Coverdale you gotta cover. No biggie, huh? ;) I was on the first LAP gig in Sweden talking a long time to Joseph after the gig and he had an amazing night. It's 25 years since he did the first Toto album and of course age doesn't matter, they just invented botox shots for vocal chords. Just amazing :)
I tell you what: I get a bunch of gifted people and just name the time and place and we'll play any setlist for you to sing based on Fahrenheit and 7th One plus Hold The Line, Africa, Rosanna and Angel Don't cry. How's that for flavour?

I have several boots of the 7th one, and on some later dates Joe's voice is amazing.
Be positive and happy that Toto is coming with Joseph! Eveyr lead singer has bad nights, Bobby had them too. That's normal when singing real luive, in stead of some "musicians" who playback.

I think most of us are used to the fact that some songs are sung by different vocalists.
During Tambu Jonh James and Jenny Douglas did a lot of lead vocals.
I think the discussion about joe or Bobby is out of order on this one.
They are doing a tour for Mike, and take Joseph with them, we all have a chance to see toto live once more, the reason is a sad one, let's support them in the best way we can and stop the discussion about the lead singer during this brief tour.
No matter what the reason is why someone is not coming along during the summer!

The Toto Tour with Joseph...........
First, let me say that Joseph is a very good friend of mine, and I love his vocals with Toto. If I'm anywhere in the area where they're playing, I'll make the trip and sing some songs with them. Don't miss Toto with Joseph, because you would be missing a very fun time.

Don't worry folks, i've seen Toto 4 times with Joe, and he can sing the old songs, ideal would be both of them, but hearing Joe sing Hold the line is equal to hearing Bobby singing Pamela - Home of the Brave (which he did well), they are both fine singers, ...... and Bobby, respect man, i look forward to your next solo record, i look very much forward to seeing Toto once more in Copenhagen, and to the DVD later.
