As a longtime fan of great

As a longtime fan of great Toto, is so sad posting my first comment on this shocking news about Mike, I am close to him and his family, hope the love of fans around the world will give him a little more comfort.
Mike, the italian fans are with you!

very very happy to read this!

hello every one,I wasn't there since so long time, but I'm very happy to read this! love to you all!! kiss, christel

Wish if they come to Indonesia again

I wish if they come to Indonesia again, with Bobby Kimball so seven members in the tour dedicated to Mike Porcaro, and unforgettable, in memoriam Jeff Porcaro.

I can't find the words....

Toto has been one of my examples since I was a kid.
I am a drummer and losing Jeff was one of the worst things in my musical education.
My boyfriend is suffering from a disease that is something in between MS and ALS.
So I know the terror Mike and his family are going trough, though my boyfriend is given 5 to 10 years.
I hope something can be arranged for Mike, so the disease can be slowed down...
I will be there in Heerhugowaard in Holland. And I hope all the fans in the world will make a difference for Mike!
Please make a dvd of the tour, so we can help out by buying that dvd.

My prayers are for everybody close to Toto, and Mike and his family especially

Shocked is the right word

Shocked is the right word when i heart about the ilness of Mike. Mixed emotion about the temporarily reforming of the band. Joy because i can go to see them one last time but sadness because the reasson why.

My thoughts are with Mike his family and all good friends.

Temporary Reunion

Dorothy Gale's dog - The Wizard of Oz & the Power of Music

It all started in 1978, one year after the band founded. At the age of 10, I saw a
commercial on TV about a Rock’n Roll sampler. ‘Hold the
line’ was broadcasted on the TV commercial just for a
few seconds, but it somehow fascinated me. I told my
brother about it, because I couldn’t find that record
anywhere. Well, to be honest "anywhere" at
the time meant for me the only music shop I knew called
"Die Rille" in my home town. However, he
already owned the TOTO I album and allowed me (as his
younger brother) to listen to it if I wanted to. Of
course, I wanted and it came out that I did not like
only ‘Hold the line’ on that album.

That was the beginning of a long and intensive
relationship to the Porcaro family's music over
many, many years. A band named after the little dog of
Dorothy Gale, the heroine in "The Wizard of
Oz". Just because Jeff, Mike's brother had
watched this movie and used the dog's name on the
band's demo tapes to make them identifiable.

So many snapshots of my life, where they were just
there through their tunes: When I learned my for school
– his and his brothers' music was with me (drove
my Mum crazy more than once…). When I had my first
date, when I lost my first love, when I joined the army
service, when I started at university – their music was
there when I failed and when I passed exams. Still
today, after so many years they are around. Not every
day, but whenever needed. Just like a good friend. And
I need them very, very often. That might be the reason
why 5 of 6 slots in my car's CD player are busy
playing their live and studio albums for me on and on
and on and on. To work and back home. Or wherever I
go.

He got elected to the Musicians Hall of Fame in 2009
with the band. By far the most prestigious honor in
this business. Toto, everybody knows them, though not
everybody knows them. However, their discography is
longer than Lee Sklar's beard and everybody I know
knows at least one band or musician they have played
with - in the studio or live on stage. The musicians of
the musicians.

I do remember some special moments like the tour date
in Stockholm, November 9th, 2002, where my wife and I
had the pleasure to briefly talk to Bobby the next day
at the airport, when we were heading back to Germany
and the band moved on to Finland. We also met David
Paich there, but he rather looked like thinking “What
the hell am I doing here? Why do these guys know my
name? And where the hell is the bloody gate C…?” (5
minutes before they had to board the plane, David
arrived at the end of the terminal at Stockholm's
Arlanda airport, but could not find gate C to the
flight to Helsinki, which was not well marked either.
My wife and I saw him and helped out, but his look over
to us was just priceless!) It was obvious; that the
after-show party must have been rrrreally great and
that it ended in a long night…or early morning. Not
that anything like that ever happened to me......

Another unforgettable event was the Tribute to Jeff
concert in Koblenz, Germany, at the Rhine River on
March 30th, 2002. We met Lenny Castro in the hotel bar
after the show and had a wonderful time with him. I
still owe him a Guinness in Dublin’s Temple Bar
district.

Now, they are going to have a temporary reunion and
published first tour dates in Austria and Germany.
It's to honor their brother and mate Mike Porcaro.
This week I learned that Mike is diagnosed with ALS

I don't know what to say or think. It's
somehow empty up there.

It touches and hurts.

But life sometimes throws things at you. And there is
nothing you can do about it. Nothing to avoid it. And
sometimes nothing to change or reverse it. Just live
with it. Do the next step. One at a time.

Mike, I can't count the hours that your music had
enriched my life. Thank you for all these wonderful
times and moments. I owe you.

My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.
Love you brother, from the top of my heart … and the
bottom of my soul.

(People walk for many things here in the US. Why not for ALS or Mike? I'd do it. When you honor him in Europe, where I come from, why not here in his homeland?)

Mike Pocaro

I HOPE TOTO RECORDS EITHER A DVD OR CD FROM THIS TRIBUTE TOUR FOR OUR HERO MIKE POCARO.
THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE OUT HERE THAT WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MAKE IT TO THE TOUR ( I LIVE IN AUSTRALIA) BUT WOULD WANT TO HELP SUPPORT THIS TOUR BY BUYING A CD OR DVD.

Sorry, i´m read the news 5 min ago and i´m completly shocked. I´m a fan of the band since the early eighties and especially of Jeff and Mike Porcaro, so this is really bad news for me. I wish all the best for Mike and his family.

I´m so sad.

I´m very shocked to hear from which illness Mike is suffering from. If you inform yourself about ALS you´ll know what I mean. I´m so sad, that there are no happy feelings possible about the announced tour. All my thoughts belong to Mike and his family. Chris

Lucky!

You guys are all very lucky!

I am hoping to see US dates somewhere. Rubbing buddah's belly now!

I also hope for some US tour dates

However, I'm considering the possibility of taking a trip to Europe (I hope I can go with my wife but if not I'll go alone).

Mixed feelings

I wish Mike, the Porcaro family, friends and all the band members the very best.

My thoughts go to Mike and

Faith, Love and Prayer for Mike

Wishing this was not true, wishing it weren't so, wishing that time could suddenly go backwards and that we could all be in front of that stage looking at Jeff and Mike on stage like it was yesterday. Now we are full of hope, prayer and love for Mike. Hope that is endless, faith that is as strong as a towering oak and love that is endless. Mike you are in our prayers!! God Bless YOU Mike!! LOVE ALWAYS HOPES!!! Lana

TOTO's comeback

Great to hear that TOTO is coming back, although the reason is very sad. I allready knew a long time that Mike is suffering on ALS, but reading that it now is officially announced shocked me because I still hoped that it was only rumour. An uncle of my wife also had ALS and I know what a terrible disease it is!! Mike you are in our hearts and we'll pray for you!!

But how sad the reason is, I'm also happy to see my favourite band again with a great line up: Luke, David, Simon, Steve Porcaro, Jospeh Williams and Nathan East. I'm glad to see for the first time Steve Porcaro & Joseph. In the first rumour about this comeback I heard that David Hungate would play again with TOTO, and I also would have loved to see him.

I'm curious what teh setlist would be, but I aspect a lot of the Fahrenheit and The Seventh One area. We'll see. Can't wait till the dates will be confirmed and hope it will be a concert in the AHOY or in the HMH above a festival because than the setlist is mostly longer. But is it's a festival I'll also wille be there!!!

See you soon!!!

Benno

you're right!!! last night i

you're right!!! last night i was thinking about a proper setlist for the tour... i think they'll play the usual hits as africa, rosanna, hold the line... then i think pamela, stop loving you, home of the brave (there're both members who sang the original version on seventh one), bottom of your soul (with joseph on lead vocal on the chorus), i hope i'll be over you...
i hope the setlist will be as i wrote below...
Giak85

Africa

Bobby's the best for that song

Got no words....

My god Toto's coming!!! I have never seen them before.
I just read it 2 hours ago, i'm late reacting.
Sang 'Stop Loving You' so hard along i hardly had any voice left.
It's like getting a second chance being able to see them.
I am so fulfilled with joy and yet so so sad knowing what mike's condition is.

I could only dream of this to happen seeing the original line-up members together on one stage in stead of going to their individual projects.
I became fan when we all just heard there was no more toto. I heard it on my very first toto related concert of Luke. I was devastated about it.
At the same time i feel guilty about dreaming this to happen, cause i owe it because of mike's bad condition.
This chance i won't let slip away!!
My gosh.. Joseph has always been my very very very favourite toto lead singer.
What more could i ask for.
Ramona

hey Ramona,

I have seen them for the first after they finished "Fahrenheit", hahahahaha. It was 3 february 1987, when I was a young boy. I have seen them so many times.
My love for Toto doesn't end here, it live forever on the wings of time

see ya,

Mark

My thoughts are with Mike Porcaro and his family. I wish them all the best in these circumstances

Let's try to make it

if we all can. Cause as I mentioned i'm sure part of the proceedings willl be in aid of Mike and his family.

I am speechless...

Thank you guys for your statement.
Folks, I just read two days ago the rumours of the small reunion tour and I was happy like only few times before! Yesterday I planned my holidays for this year for the chance of my life - to see all my heroes joined together for my very first time. This chance - Luke, David & Steve P. and Joseph again in one place - I was speechless - my heart made a big jump!
No thoughts about Bobby, but I wondered ´bout our one and only groovermaster...
Seconds ago I read that the rumours BOTH came true- one makes me very happy and the other make me soo sad. I have no words...
All my prayers go to Mike and his family - I wish you power and all the best!

I heard the good and bad news

I heard the good and bad news like 10 minutes ago and I'm still shocked, I almost can't type...

I will be there in the Netherlands 2010, for the last Toto concert in the Netherlands. It's just too bad I can't see all my favourite band members together, Mike and Bobby are just missing... But to see Joseph would be really cool. I hope they play Mushanga.

But to get back to Mike, it's just unbelievable, I wish him and his family all the best.

Tour Dates

Hey guys !

A summer tour wowow i'm so exciting about that ! please dont forget a tour date in the south of France... we have a real cool Festival called "Les Voix du Gaou" in Toulon, will be GREAT ! Steve played there 2 years ago for the Everything changing times tour !

fingers crossed !

All the best

Linda

Hi! I knew about the news in

Hi!
I knew about the news in these last days.
I'm divided about it:
- I'm really happy to know that my friend and inspiring bass player Nathan East reach the Toto, I know he will do a very good job
- I'm sad becouse I red about Mike's illness, hoping the better for Mike, but also realizing that it will be a miracle to come out (we never know, sometimes the internal forces of a man can do better then medicine).

I hope to be at one of the next Toto gig's live to support the band, Mike and his family.

MIKE! KEEP STRONG! WE ALL SUPPORT YOUR STRUGGLE!

Max

deeply moved by the Toto's decision

I didn't know even the name of illness until I got the news.
I'm very sorry.

I want to ask Luke, Dave and Steve to continue touring all around the world (I hope Japan be included) for encouraging Mike and the patients suffering from the same disease.

I'm pleased to support and help them from Japan, too.
God bless Mike and his family.

Jun

I am looking forward to this

I am looking forward to this tour so much. I will go to a few shows, but I am very sad about Mike's condition.

Good news and terrible news

Two announcements - one, what all of us have been wishing to hear, and the other, what we've been dreading.

No chance of me being there for the tour - I live on the opposite side of the world. So I guess for me, the bad news totally outweighs the good news, and I'm still in shock. But I hope the shows are great for those of you who get to go.

Thoughts & prayers with the Porcaro family and the rest of the band.

Jes.

Now then, I would like to aks

Now then, I would like to aks everyone to behave in a propper manner. This tour is no joke. This tour is to honor Mike Porcaro who is ill. I do belive that most of you people has googled ALS alredy, but it is a very, very bad condition. Lethal, at best I am sorry to say :'(

A swedish news anchor named Ulla-Carin Lindquist was struck by this disease. A true journalist, she asked for her journalist friends (sorry, I cant spell the name for people working together) working alongside her make a documentary about her and the very rare condition she had.

Sorry to say, it's not subtitled and I am not even sure if you will be able to watch this outside of sweden.

http://svtplay.se/v/1392776/min_kamp_mot_tiden_-_ett_program_om_ulla-car...

My POINT is that this is no time for discussions on who would sing, or what songs to be played. There is neither to be no discussions about how this is the real farewell tour or not. This is about Mike Porcaro.

I would have loved if this was a tour resulted from a situation that the band wanted to be together and play. I would even have loved if this was the kind of money making tours that some bands do these days. Nothing wrong about that in any way, but I am sure you'll get the point. This tour is basically about Mike Porcaro.

I will do what I can to get hold of tickets.

I am very very sorry if I have offended anyone in any way, that was never my tought. I just ask people to not flame eachother.

PEACE

Vippe! Respect !

this is a message originally posted on Luke's FB fansite by me :we all understand that you guy's are under a lot of pressure from everywhere these day's,after the news broke yesterday i can only speak for myself, but man .....rip my right arm off ....this is so sad,unfair.....call it whatever, my question is maybe premature, but anyways,in the spirit of the whole Toto co...mmunity,will there be a researchfund to help support the ALS research started in Mike's name ? i can only imagine that folk's all over the world would wanna donate to such good cause,i also wondered if there will be set up a site where the fans can show their support for the Porcaro family? ..... to the rest of you who's only consern is " will you come to my hometown to play" .....show some fuckin' respect !

thanks for saying what I feel

hi Vippe
thanks for saying what I was and am feeling.
I wil think about going to a gig but for now I am to sad to
my prayers are with mike and his family as they have been al this time.

Eagerly waiting for the tour list

so that i dont book tickets with an unknown seller and flight tickets to wrong destinations.

Sad news about Mike

I will definatley try and make one of these shows to show my love for this superb musician & human being,
don't know much about the condition but i hope he is'nt suffering to much.

Mike

What can we say: we think of you!
We all love you!

Mike

I am really sorry to hear what has happened to Mike and would like to send my love, I hope Toto come to the uk during this reunion for Mike I would love to see Joseph Williams sing again because I haven't seen him since 1988.

Yep. It'll be another emotion

Yep. It'll be another emotion filled tour. As some one said "bitter sweet". I'm glad we can now put a name on Mikes condition.

I believe

that for those of us who do care we should try to make it for one of the sessions. I do believe that part of the money will be in support of Mike and we should do our small bit for him and the Band who have touched our lives.

wonder why

no mention of Bobby?

ok

Issue cleared up by Bobby's post on another thread. Still just wanted to know.
