I noticed a familiar name on the "Vintage Guitar" issue with Luke on the cover. It brought me right back to my Louisiana roots when I saw that name on the cover. Sonny is one of the best slide guitarists ever. If you have any questions about that, ask Luke. I played in two bands with Sonny back in Louisiana before altering my course and coming out to LA to play music. Sonny was one of those guys who could make the whole band better. I remember once while we were playing together, Sonny walked over and told me to take a solo in the song we were playing. I don't profess to be a keyboardist, but I can find my way around a bit on the keys. I was a little reticent to jump in a take that solo, but he assured me that it would be OK. Finally, I dove in and somehow, everything I played was fine. Even when I went "out-of-bounds" there was something Sonny would do to make it fit like a glove. I'll never forget that experience, and I hope everyone checks his music out. He's a great player, and even better, a great human being.
Congrats to you Luke, for making the cover of Vintage Guitar. All my best to everyone in Toto Network-land.

Sonny Landreth
I was fortunate enough to be in one of two local bands that opened up for Sonny back in about 1996 at the Coach House. What a great slide player! I enjoyed watching him play!

Music is the answer!
There's a reason ................
There's a reason people say nice things about Sonny. It's not only his playing being magnificent, but he's a great guy to know as well. It's good to know that there are still some very gracious people who are also fantastic musicians. I've been very lucky to have known SO MANY, and to have performed with them as well. Sonny's up there amongst the best in my books. Check out his music,.......you'll dig it.
It takes one to know one ....
