Last night, my grandpa was admitted to the local hospital (Same one where I was born).

His Parkinson's has started toward the 'worst' stages, and he has had hallucinations for some time. He is also battling dementia.

He's been under observation from last night -and will be transported to another facility in Collins, for further evaluation before a decision is made to admit him to a nursing home (or not).

Please keep my whole family in your prayers. My Mother's already been through the nether-regions of Hell dealing with her dad's stubborn-turned-arrogant side. We aren't sure how much of that's just Joe, or how much of it's the PD. Honestly? It's d*med difficult to tell.

I won't bore y'all with any other details....except to say I doubt seriously he's going back to his trailer anytime soon.

He's had PD for 12 years. It's turned vicious within the past eight months, and due to the confusion that comes with it---and the hallucinations, my family's been ragged out, belittled, etc. We've all gone through or own private Hell dealing with this.

Parkinson's is NOT kind.

Thanks Everybody!

My Mom and Dad are helping get Papaw settled at the new facility in Collins. He'll be there (we think?) for two weeks for evaluation and observation before they decide to place him in a home.

My prayer right now isn't so much for Grandpa---but for my parents.

It's a hard road but we'll make it. God's never left us stranded, and I don't see that happening now.

Updates as I get 'em.
Thanks for all the good vibes, prayers and love.

Unconditional Love

Hey, T, I know how difficult PD can be on a family. I also know how God can take control of any situation you may face. My prayers are with you and your family along with all these others, and don't forget how much we all care!!

Hope the best for your family. My dad had dementia and my mom has it and really doesn't remember me. So sad......my best to you, be strong.

Jeanne: Thanks!

It's a rough patch in Life's road-but we'll make it. It's kinda hard to see, though-'cause my Grandpa has always been a huge advocate for me. So now...he's in a bind. All I can do is watch and pray.

What else is there?

HIgher Power

All of your family and you are in my prayers as you go through this tough time in your life. Think of the great wealth of wisdom passed along to you and the rest of your kin.
May God give you guidance and strengh as you go through this with family. You seem like a strong soul and i believe many of your kin' look to you for guidance and a person to lean on. Thinking of ya "T"... email me sometime, ive got something i think you'd really cherish.

BMICH....

I just sent you an email---same address as before. Holla back.

And, yes---there's a Higher Power involved in the entire situation with my Grandpa. God's somehow managing to hold us up through it. That'll work. This hasn't been easy and won't get any easier for a while.

Thankfully we have each other, and God's Grace to lean on.
