Here's a link to an entry in Lee's discography with a picture of the album sleeve and album credits, plus some more Bayer Sager, including the other Jeff collaboration ("Sometimes Late At Night")..
Carole Bayer Sager

Leo.
Perhaps Lee could shed some light on these sessions. I just looked at the credits list... I read someplace that Jeff was double scale. (Not triple....double).
These players and singers lists are huge. Makes one wonder what the recording budget for these records were for Carol. Who financed 'em, ya wonder!???
*shrug*

It usually used to advanced by label against future royalties, with the producer being tasked by label with bringing it in within budget. these days, artists often self=produce out of pockect as budgets are WAYY down...

Thanks, JoeG!
Kinda makes one wonder how many producers end up owin' the labels once a project's in the can!

Hey T., that's a good question!
In the meantime, you give me the opportunity to emphasize a thing about these credits that might in part answer it: since i am taking them down from the records to be included into Lee's discography within the Totonetwork, my method is to only track-number (when such data is available):
a) Lee's contributions
b) the whole rhythm section of the songs Lee plays in (i have started track-numbering these only about three months ago)
c) the contributions of other Toto members
d) the producing/arranging credits (producers, engineers, etc.)
This means, obviously, that all the other musicians are not necessarily playing on ALL of the tracks. This should be particularly evident when it comes down to those entries with 5 or 6 different drummers that have no track number assigned.
Maybe this partially answers your question, in that it means that the financers didn't have to pay studio time for all of these credited musicians on all the tracks. Still, it's a pretty impressive list of top names..

Hey Leo?
The numbers are cool---gives somebody a chance to see different combos. That's a great way to do it.
