JT is in Italy for his One Man Band tour come mid-april. I'm thrilled to say the least, as I saw him last in 1985... Here is the January number of his newsletter bulletin. Not Toto related, but I thought some of you might have liked to read it. Cheers, leo. ---------------
Thank God for the captions... Isn't this a wonderful image? It gives you an idea of a community of musicians and friends. Picture is by Norman Seeff. The European CD edition of this 1976 James Taylor album has a very small reproduction of this picture. This file is from the original LP.

I was checking out Dan Dugmore's site and came across this...
Waddy Wachtel,Oscar,Leland Sklar,Dan Dugmore,James Taylor.
Here I was, just watching a taping of one of my favorite 'not-TOTO' songs and suddenly Lee showed up. Big suprise, didn't know that (but there's a lot I don't know) loving the song even more now (if possible)!
We want the old, big record sleeves back, aha! This is even bigger than the original. I assembled four 500dpi scans of the picture composite on the inner gatefold of the 1979 JT album, "Flag", through Photomerge. "Flag" is great. Top, L/R: Danny Kortchmar, Don Grolnick. Centre: Peter Asher. Bottom, L/R: Russ Kunkel, Leland Sklar.
A Jim Shea photograph taken from the gatefold sleeve of the James Taylor "JT" album. To my knowledge this photograph hasn't been included in the booklet of the CD reissue (at least it's not on mine). I'm experimenting with the blog, and I don't know if it's best to post here on on the image section instead. Some of these images are already there btw. If you cannot manage to open this file from here you can watch it in 'my gallery', at the bottom of the page that appears once you click on my avatar. Ciao!
It's a jpg and it takes a while to download. James Taylor and band: Lee Sklar, Bob Mann, Dan Dugmore, Rosemary Butler, Carlos Vega, Don Grolnick, Arnold McCuller. The song is "Sweet Potato Pie". http://www.septembergrass.net/media/JT_SNC_Sweet_Potato_Pie.mpg Also: No Nukes 1980 - "Your Smiling Face" http://www.wadhoo.com/30959/james/JT%20YOUR%20SMILING%20FACE%20(NO%20NUKES).mpg
