Wednesday July 18th, I traveled about 800 km, from my home in the southern part of Norway, to Molde. The entire week the city of Molde was filled with people, enjoying the life and music of the Jazz Festival. On thursday, July 19th, I was attending the biggest concert of this years festival, starring the headliners Elvis Costello/Allen Toussaint and Steely Dan! Elvis Costello was the first man to enter the stage, together with songwriter/arranger from New Orleans, Allen Toussaint, and their band, lead by Steve Nieve.

Hi everybody... I've been quite busy the last couple of months, and haven't been around as much as I used to. Anyway, the next couple of weeks/months are going to be exciting, because I'm going to see several interesting concerts! And every single band/artist I'm going to see, I haven't seen live before.. Upcoming weekend, I'm attending the Seaside Music & Mission Festival here in Norway (actually almost in my neighborhood). On Saturday evening I'm going to see Abraham Laboriel, Justo Almario, Bill Maxwell and Greg Mathieson, all known from the band Koinonia! First they're going to play for an hour, and then they're going to be the backup band for the gospel legend Andrae Crouch! What a night that will be!!

Few people know that before Steely Dan became Steely Dan, the boys performed and toured under 7,566 other names as part of a test marketing research investigation. In 1973, aided by the Windsor Unimax 5000 computer system, a test market research investigation was initiated by Jack Tafoya, a prominent record company executive with a penthouse apartment in the Brill building. As a result, the computer came up with 9,087 of the best names for the burgeoning group. Here is a list of the top fifty leading to the final selection: Penis Whip
